Millicent was grateful for the distraction, as her mind was not fully caught up on what was happening to her. One moment she was sure she'd be told the baby in her stomach was not Justin's, and now instead she was being told that not only was the baby Justin's, but Ella was too?
In all of this, Justin's question seemed to be the one she most wanted answer too. How? Not that she doubted the result. Just seeing them now together it seemed so odd that she hadn't seen the resemblance before. The curly hair, the way they both tilted their head, the smile. It suddenly occurred to her why she'd liked Justin's smile so much that first time she'd met him. It had almost been her daughters smile.
Too happy for words, she listened again to the baby's heartbeat a feeling of something settling in her chest. They were going to have to talk to Ella, explain that Justin was her real daddy - though somehow she knew she'd be only too happy to hear that. She was already clapping her hands at the sound of the baby's heartbeat, proclaiming to be the best big sister ever. Millicent looked at Justin, fighting back tears of happiness.
Their daughter, their baby, their family. Could she really be that lucky? And how in the world could this be?
