Justin did take his eyes off Millicent when he saw the balls of light. He remembered what he'd learned about auras at school, and was fascinated.
The green and the gold weren't surprising, and he wanted to comment on the symbolism of them. He wasn't sure exactly what Megan was doing, but when Megan said that the baby was his, he unconsciously let go of that nagging feeling that had been hanging like a twisted thread in the back of his mind.
He was grinning even more madly now, and chuckled. He turned back to Millicent. "See, now didn't I tell you?" It was the only time he'd ever say he told her so, but he wasn't going to be smug at all. Megan was right, this was his baby.
"I don't think we want to know if it's a boy or a girl, Megan. Let's keep the pleasant surprises, hmmmm?" He kissed Millicent again, telling her he loved her.
