A finger traced the cup of her tea as it returned to her hands, and she leaned back slightly stiffly, a thin perfect brow raised even as her mind whirled with anger. How dare he; how dare he say such things to her- if he truly knew her reach he wouldn’t even think to insult her in such a way! However, a business meeting such as this required a certain decorum and it was in her best interest to keep her temper in check.
“Or perhaps you are worried that someone else could come and do so again. May I suggest you keep an eye on your…competition next time?” Jillian stated, not rudely, merely as if she was suggesting he should take sugar with his tea.
Taking a sip of her own, her eyes rose slowly to his in a methodical manner. “You suggested an arrangement?” She asked calmly, tongue coming out to lick the corner of her mouth, the small finger of her hand also moving to brush her lip to look at him pointedly. She would hold her anger, even as it bubbled, for a better time.
