Padma suspected from the look on Daphne's face, that redecorating something that might be as dark as Bletchley Manor was going to be a bit of a daunting task. "Oh I'm sure, but there's plenty of ways to make a place look much lighter, or brighter without going to such extremes."
She really wanted to help Daphne with the bird, and suspected the right direction of research might not be her strongest point. Summoning Mimsy, she asked her to get a particular book from the library. "I might have a book that you are welcome to borrow - it might help you investigate this bird." It was a book on charms and curses, and how they specifically work, and what sort of things trigger them to become inanimate.
She let her eyes widen just a little at the mention of just how dark this family was. Poor Daphne - had she realised this before she married Miles? "Oh, a blood bond?" Now Padma was intrigued.
"I've heard a lot about those. Tell me," Padma's well honed intellect and desire for knowledge was now fully awakened at the thought of something like this. "Is it true that you share emotions with your husband? Do those bonds truly exist?"
