Daphne shrugged her shoulders again, giving Padma a defeated look. "Well, bright white isn't inviting either - my parents should take our decorating advice as well. Black and white do not a home make."
She tilted her head to the side, thinking for a moment. "Old enemy?" she mused aloud. "I can't honestly think of anything like that. I mean, they obviously have a bit of a history of dark magic, but what Pureblood Slytherin family is completely free of that? It's a good place to start, I guess."
"Not all of it, from my experience, but I'm pretty sure that the magic surrounding the manor isn't the friendliest kind. It's just a very good thing that Miles didn't take after his brother and, from what I hear, most of the other male members of his family." It was no secret that the Bletchley's had a history of such things. "But, for example, the bond that Miles and I share involved some blood, and I don't think the spell was particularly dark or evil.
