Daphne was in the library drinking another glass of firewhiskey when she felt the first twinges in the bonding mark on her back. It started as a light tingle before it started to turn into a prickling along her skin. Her heart started to race as a wave of heat swirled in her stomach before it began to burn through her entire body.
She recognized the feelings easily - after all, she felt this exact thing every time she and Miles had sex. It was his emotions that he was feeling, and it felt exactly like this when they were in one of their more...feisty moods.
Except that Miles was supposed to be drinking in the manor with his mates, not fooling around with some girl while she was HOME. Daphne had no idea when exactly anyone else had arrived - she should have felt it as they came through the wards. Was he actually trying to hide what he was doing? Surely he wasn't that unintelligent to think she wouldn't feel it.
She began to boil silently, knocking back firewhiskey after firewhiskey as she felt Miles' lust swirling inside her, growing slowly in intensity. By the time she stood up, she was dazed and rather drunk, knowing full well that she'd more than a few too many. This realization, however, was clouded by the jealousy she felt growing in her mind, and she began to stalk from the room. She'd put up with such a display once, and tonight was not the night.
It didn't take her long to find him - he was making enough noise after all, and she pushed the doors open, her cheeks flushed in rage.
The sight that greeted her, however, made her eyes fly open and her anger dissipated almost instantly. After all, she'd expected to find her husband entwined with some woman, not with HIGGS.
Daphne's hand flew to her mouth to stifle the laughter that threatened to escape her rather intoxicated lips. As if the sight alone wasn't hilarious enough, the look on their faces made it that much better.
And why was it that she found herself strangely aroused by the whole scene. It had to be Miles' emotions that she was feeling - they could be too influential sometimes. Damn bond.
