"I was a wayward child, lead down the path of such horrible behaviour by you, oh Captain, my Captain," he chuckled, still amused after all these years at his little indiscretion at the Montague Estates.
He rolled his eyes as Montague made excuses, ready to open his mouth to make sure he owed him one.
But then he thought he heard him say Verity was pregnant. His eyes widened and he looked straight at Montague. "You're joking, aren't you?" he said, sure that he was just using that excuse. But then he saw something about his friend and the way he said it, seeming somewhat self satisfied. "Seriously?" he said again, a grin widening even more on his face.
He clapped Montague on the back, summoning a box of cigars from the drawer. One flew into the hands of each of them, and he made sure to stuff it straight into Montague's mouth. "Bloody marvellous mate. I was wondering if I was going to have to sit you down and explain how these things worked, but I can see that you finally worked it out on your own."
