He had been expecting the question, and knew perfectly well what to answer. Having just taken a bite of his food, he swallowed before answering, taking another sip of his drink. Merlin this kind of food was tasteless.
'Not much, I assure you,' he said with a smile. 'Only my chance to help.' He waited a bit, for effect, before he moved on, knowing now exactly how to spin this. 'Some months ago, I approached Mr Ogden about the possibility of starting a new bank, one who left he power over our fund in the hands of wizards, not beings or creatures,' he started. 'After gaining his approval, I started the process. Finding a board, personnel, land, contractor,' well I won't bore you with the details over lunch, but all in all a way to bring stability into this society once more.' He smiled again, taking another bite while she processed the information.
'The endeavour would be financed by myself and others willing to donate, so the Ministry would stand without cost, but reap the benefits. All I ask is to be allowed to continue the work started already.'
'Other than that, there is really only one thing that I have interest in,' at the moment. 'I think it's about time that we as a society stopped leaving orphaned wizards and witches in the hands of muggles. We need an orphanage of our own, one connected to the primary school. One that can teach these children our traditions, values, ways of life instead of letting them become...' he smiled as he remembered Draco's expression. 'Muggles with wands.'
'It's time we take control of our society, protect if from harmful influences. Protect our values and ways of life, don't you agree?'
