Theo watched her carefully, as much her interaction with Nathaniel as her avoidance of him and her words. 'You never went to Snape, did you?' he asked with a frown. 'I knew I should have paid more attention,' he sighed. 'I allowed the battle and what followed to distract me, I'm sorry Ver.'
'Now what was wrong with you?' he asked, lifting Nathaniel up from his lap and handing him over to Verity. He wasn't quite able to sit on his own yet, other than for a few moments, but he was getting stronger every day. With his back supported however, he had no trouble at all and grinned up at the woman whose lap he was now in.
