George took a long pull on his drink, then ordered another round. "Well... it really began after Mum died on Christmas Eve." He sighed, remembering. "It was a very rough time, as you can imagine. We, along with Harry, went looking for those that attacked. We didn't find them, so we came back in February of last year."
They got their drinks and he continued. "Things happened at such a whirlwind. I became involved with Verity O'Shea... we were living with Charlie, trying to get the Shelter together. Or so people tell me."
He saw the confused look on Lee's face and went on. "I had a run-in with with some people I owed money to. Beat the hell out of me... so bad that Anthony Goldstein had to reconstruct my face using Fred as a guide. But the worst of it was I lost three months worth of memories. From the end of January to April... I remember nothing. I've had to rely on what everyone's told me happened during that time."
