Miles had been sorting through twigs out in the back storeroom. He had put special charms on a room where he stored all his materials. He didn't want moisture to affect the twigs or the branches that were still waiting to be carved into new brooms.
He thought he had heard the bell go off on the shop door, but then he heard Cass' smarmy comment and he snorted.
Coming out the front, an arm full of twigs, he snorted again at the sight of Vaisey. "Of course I'm working, Vaisey. Not that you'd know what that really was, running around like a five year old trying to catch the baddies." His jibe was good natured, and there wasn't any malice in it.
He didn't fail to notice the pretty girl, remembering her from Honeydukes. He honestly couldn't remember her name, but he saw the way Cass had his arm possessively around her waist. There was a high blush on the girl's cheeks as well.
"Is this the boyfriend?" he asked, remembering she turned down his advances because of some possibly mythical boyfriend.
"That true mate? You got a girlfriend?" he was chuckling now in amusement. He knew Cass didn't do commitment.
