"Indeed. From what I've seen of your daughter, she carries much of the same steel that my own dear wife has." Of course, there were many things he didn't know about Daphne, such as her tastes, and whether she enjoyed the same things as Bellatrix. But she was certainly of a desirable mould for a death eater wife. Smarter than her husband as well, which could only benefit their cause.
Blagden was hiding his temper well. Rodolphus barely had to touch his thoughts with his legilimency to know what he was thinking. Anyone who could read facial expressions would have been able to deduce the same.
He made a mistake, locking his gaze with Rodolphus. It was an open invitation to read his mind, and he knew exactly what Blagden was thinking.
"Indeed it would be unseemly. She doesn't need to pay for the sins of the father." He maintained the gaze. "You just said yourself, you would do anything for her."
"Yet you seem to have neglected your obligations to the very cause that your sons gave their lives for." Shaking his head, he leaned forward in his chair. "I'm a reasonable man, Blagden, in spite of what others think."
Taking his time, he stood, walking around the room casually and taking in the view from the window. "We both know why I'm here. I'm going to ask you for money, you'll say you don't owe me any, I'll threaten you and your family, you'll dig your heels in, and I'll in all likelihood kill you on the spot and then demand what's due from your heir." He turned back to Blagden with a sadistic smile.
