Cormac shrugged. "There's not really a lot of patrol to do at a time," he said. "But there's times when we're all needed, if that makes sense." He sighed. "But I do know the feeling. I hate being idle," he said.

"Yeah I want to know the reason, idiot," he said, rolling hsi eyes. "And I don't have the most reliable genes either, but I didn't think about that with Victoria. It's not an issue with Emma, but I know I won't end up like either of my parents, or Tiberius, because I refuse to." He looked seriously at Adrian. "Do you honestly think you could ever be like your father? With everything you've been through and done?"
