Susan stood firmly. "I'm not going to dismiss anything, Cass." Her look was firm, and she was not going to be browbeaten by him.
"No, you don't have to do that. But Aunt Amelia once said that she couldn't lie straight in bed, and I'm inclined to believe that."
"Oh she won't alienate the aurors." Susan managed a little laugh. She doubted the woman would bite the hand that would help feed her. "At least, I hope she doesn't."
She was running out of steam, all her arguments now just the same, and she gave Cass another look. "Look, I'm sorry I've dumped all this on you - Mischa just looks at me and goes back to sleep, so I guess I needed a captive audience to vent." Who else could she speak her mind to, who she could trust?
