Susan shook her head. "No, the fact that Umbridge let the Slytherins practically have run of the school. She plays favourites, and your house could do no wrong. You never got on her bad side, Cass, and I hope for your sake that you never will."
She was having a lot of trouble letting this go. "I know, I know, just don't give her an inch, because before you know it, she will have taken miles and miles."
At the question about choice, Susan really had no idea, and sighed. "We don't have any choice, and that's the damn frustration. I know if Aunt Amelia were alive, she'd be running ragged to make sure that there was enough opposition to oust her before she could have a chance to clear her throat."
Cass was always so laid back about things, and it still frustrated Susan to this day about it. "Come back into this kitchen in a few weeks and say the very same thing, Cass, and tell me then that you'll truly believe it."
Susan was under no illusions, and nobody was going to change her opinion. Aunt Amelia had never been wrong about anyone - her ability to judge character had been near flawless. Umbridge was a bad egg.
"Can you honestly say that she isn't allied to the Death Eaters? Where has she been hiding these ears? Don't you think it's just a little too convenient that she comes out at the very minute we've gone and attacked the Lestranges stronghold?"
