Kevin had progressively felt better as the days went on. Though his heart still ached, he had come to terms with what had happened, and had finally convinced himself that there was nothing he could have done to prevent their deaths.
His stroll through the house had done wonders, helping him remember the good times he'd had here. There was only once place he'd avoided for the moment - his bedroom. He needed to tell Anthony and Megan about what had happened long ago. But he wanted the time to be right.
He had just finished making tea when Megan came home. He added a third cup, then walked into the living room. "Hello, love," he said, "Glad to be home?" he said, really feeling like it was home.
