'Percy isn't his family, he'll remind her of that if necessary,' he said, confident that Percy wouldn't allow his job to be compromised - by anything. 'Have some faith in him, he didn't come this far by not knowing when to suck up and pretend.'
Her assertion that he could find a place for him if he needed one, and that she could use good fighters, was definitely surprising, and he gave her a scrutinising look. Just as he was about to answer however, Percy called from the living room, asking what they were talking about. He smirked and let the subject drop.
'Care to join us or will you come back when you can actually talk to him while he's sober?' he asked.
