She was going to cry, and she was going to do so with or without anyone's permission. She didn't know for how long or how much, but she knew it was set to happen.
"She was my best friend, in a way," she said, trying to push hair from her face. Much of it was matted onto her cheeks. "And I was worried about her going to Upper Slaughter... I should have done more here. Hexes... wards around the place. I didn't do a thing."
