All Remus could do was let her work this out. He gently ran his hands along her back, rubbing it as if he were trying to get a small child to go to sleep.
"Any number of them," Remus said softly, a trace of bitterness in his voice. "You're married to me now... and I'm the head of the Order. Get to me by getting to you through her. Any number of reasons."
Remus' thumbs brushed the tears from her face, though they were falling faster than he could keep up with. "I know. It... doesn't make it easier, specifically in the how. I was young when I lost mine as well," he said softly. "Though neither of them were murdered but I know how it feels to be an orphan."
