Daphne gave him a smile. "Well, perhaps we can have lunch with the boys before we leave? I know you don't like to leave them here, and I don't think I am comfortable doing that either if we're out of the country. I can ask 'Cent about it, maybe? It would make a good birthday present from her." She gave Miles a teasing wink.
She unconsciously shivered as his finger slipped across her bonding mark, and she realized that she hand had copied the motion.
"I...don't really know," she said finally, her shoulder giving him a small shrug. "It might be part of it. I used to think definitely, but now I'm not so sure. The other side effects are not as noticeable anymore, you know?" She chuckled a bit at something else that she hadn't mentioned yet. "Oh, and I'm apparently physically unable to use my maiden name in spoken or verbal communication. That was an interesting one to find out."
Daphne hadn't thought extensively about the bond in awhile. It had almost grown natural over the past couple months, and she wasn't sure how she felt about that at all. In fact, she was beginning to forget what it was like to live without it.
