"But do we bring the boys, or shall we leave them at home or with someone?" every time now he thought about doing something fun, they had the boys to consider. "I mean, it's your day, do you want them around, or do you want a mummy free day?"
They sat quietly for a moment, the only thing not right being the soft twinge in his healing leg. He chuckled again, his thumb brushing unconsciously over the mark on her shoulder. "Do you think it's still something to do with this?" he asked her, having wondered about their bond, but not really voicing any questions about it.
He knew in his mind that breaking their marriage was the right thing to do - he'd got her into so much trouble - yet when he thought of this bond, the worry that breaking it and the damage it could cause was even more worrisome. He'd never had something, or someone to help centre him when he let things get out of hand, and as much as it annoyed him at first, now it was settling into something - dare he say - too good.
