Right now Miles wanted something to make the pain go away, and he didn't know why, but Daphne's touch and her presence seemed to be doing something to help that.
"Don't cry," he said to her softly. "I'm far from dead yet." It was easy to make fun of the situation for her, but if he died, she would be out of this mess, and wouldn't have to do anything the Lestranges asked of her.
He tried to move again, and the pain wasn't any better. It wasn't any worse, but he thought perhaps that worse meant he'd be dead, so that was something. "Did... is the house okay?" he asked, guessing it wasn't, or it was severely damaged.
When she tried to justify the healer's priorities, he gave her a look. "They're dying, and I'm bleeding!" He realised shouting at her wasn't going to help. "Could you try to please find a pain potion, at the least?"
