Miles was only partly aware that his damn house was on fire, as his first thought was for Daphne, and the broom he had by the door. As they reached the bottom of the stairs, he coughed, trying to get a spell to make the smoke go away so they could breathe.
He needed to go - he was being summoned, yet Daphne was in danger. He grabbed her by both arms as they reached the front door. "Will you be safe in the basement?" he asked, not sure of where else she should go. There was more explosions and and more flames with each minute.
"Or will you be safe to apparate home?" He would have taken her home in an instant, but the summons was getting more insistent with each minute. He was torn, and hated the fact he didn't know what was more important right now. He gave Daphne a worried look, seeing the fear on her face. Merlin, he'd dragged her into this, and she really didn't need to be here, and now they were under attack.
