Daphne winced at the sound of his rather forcefully swears. She could feel her bonding mark flaring on her back, evidence of her husband's displeasure. But she simply didn't know what to do. Her LIFE was in danger, and she was terrified. As terrified as when she'd been hallucinating that she was being choked, except that this was very, very REAL.
The blonde just blinked at him, wincing as another explosion rocked the ground outside. He was telling her to stay put, and she was about to open her mouth to reply when there was a loud crash, followed by the sound of burning wood and the entrance of a torrent of dark smoke.
She simply froze. This was bad. Really, really bad. How in the bloody hell was she supposed to handle this!? Then, all of a sudden, Miles had grabbed her hand and was pulling her downstairs. Daphne coughed harshly as she inhaled a mouthful of smoke, and her eyes were watering from the sudden heat of the flames.
