Marlowe's smile got a little wider at the compliment and the hair ruffle, he liked it when people did that, it made him happy for some reason he didn't know. "Miss Verty says I do too. I try very hard to remember things." Like his numbers and letters and all sorts of people, though he'd never let his mummy know that when he was still with Mummy.
He stopped talking when Mister Monty and Mister Cass talked about the sickness. He had been really sick, even now he still felt icky, but he was feeling lots better, and the scary wormies hadn't come back since Miss Verty had scared them away.
When Mister Cass looked back at him though, Marlowe's eyes got wide as he sucked in both his lips waiting politely to answer. "I do." He nodded. "Miss Verty has a horse, and Mister Monty promised that I could get one. And we have two doggies. May and Merlin. And then there is a kitty- but he hides a lot..." Marlowe's brow furrowed at that, he didn't know why, but Miss Verty said he just liked to 'splore. "Do you like animals Mister Cass?" He asked politely back, he was trying to remember that he was supposed to ask questions too, nobody liked it when you were selfish.
