"We knew there was a chance of a risk, and it failed. It is over now. We don't dwell on such things as our mistakes." His wife ran hot and cold. One day she would have no interest in his plans. Others, like today, saw her as the architect of the brave new world they were going to build. "Only childish petulance would stop us from moving forward, and right now, I am salvaging what we have to rebuild."
"And yet in the same breath you demand respect, you come in here like a spoiled child and demand things that are not your concern." He wasn't angry at her in the least. He had a lifetime of her tantrums, and when she was in this mood - she was beautiful the epitome of power. He snorted at the comment about whores. "You certainly took care of the last one, my dear." He would not be taking another woman to his bed now. His wife was providing sport enough with their sparring.
He managed to laugh at her words. "What, you needed someone else to make your victory even more complete? You burned and pillaged and destroyed the town, all without my assistance."
The burning fire of hatred in her eyes matched the fire rising in his own. "Oh you will bend, my dear," he said in a sadistic voice. "You will bend and you will enjoy it." He managed a little laugh. "Do you really think I don't know your little games, Bella?" His thumb caressed her voicebox as his wand had come out to trail down the front of her robes. "You truly need to get this worked up to get your husband's attention?" She probably did after the pox, but he saw no lingering signs of it on her body. "Now, are you going to behave like a good wife, or am I going to have to remind you of who you are?"
