"Oi, Mum!" Dora had seen her mum come at her, but was still slightly taken aback by the tight hug she was granted and the excitment shining in her mother's eyes. Dora still considered it a blessing that the famed Black Family Temper hadn't sparked and had her yelling at the both of them, so perhaps some excitement was something she could deal with.
She hugged her mother back, but couldn't help a few shushing noises. "Shh, I don't want to sound as if I'm making a huge thing of it," she said said, her cheeks colouring slightly as she looked over he mum's shoulder to see if they'd drawn any attention to themselves. Satisfied that they hadn't, Dora pulled out of the hug and held out her left hand. On her ring finger sat a ring set modestly in rose quartz and deep blue saphire, her two favorite colours.
"Of course he got me a ring," Dora said. "One I won't feel odd wearing either." It didn't match her current boots and shorts ensemble at all, nor would it ever, but Dora loved her wedding ring like she'd never loved any piece of jewelry before.
She laughed softly. "So there's your proof. I'm quite married now. It was... very nice."
