Justin barely registered Romilda's voice from where he stood, a bit apart from Pansy and Ella. It wasn't until the second time she said it that he realized what she was saying.
Millicent was awake, and... fuck. He was immediately flooded with guilt. He trusted that Romy would have done the best she could, but he should have been there for her. He should have been the one to tell her.
Without waiting for her to say anything more, or bothering to ask just how unwell she was, he moved past the three of them into the Shack and sprinted to her room.
She looked pale, and drawn, and tired still. No better than she'd looked for weeks. Since they'd brought her in. But she was awake. "Thank Merlin," he said quietly, brushing her hair away from her face. "I'm so sorry, Millicent. I should have been here. How are you feeling?"
