He nodded. "I wish there were something I could do to help," Lee said. He liked to be useful. To have something to do with his hands and feel like he's contributing to something.
"Yeah, I met a wonderful woman who just recently had a baby the other day. Well, her other daughter, Valery," he felt safe calling her her daughter, "mistook me for her father, who she'd apparently taken it upon herself to find."
That little girl was the sweetest thing. He hoped to see them both again sometime. He really did like children.
"I suppose going on is all anyone can really do in times like this. It's that, or give up hope."
