It was like dancing some obscene rite. A nod here, a smile there -- all to obscure what both party was truly feeling. Severus was at least glad for the fact that she was being slightly pleasant, even if that was for the benefit of Faustus.
"I am glad for that much, Narcissa," Severus replied, extending his hand to Faustus the moment her hands were off him. The boy went to him, moving to stand beside his father. Gently, Severus rested a hand on the boy's shoulder and fought the urge to glare openly. Instead, he settled for his typical scowl.
"I never said that I wasn't nor couldn't," He replied coldly. There had been other reasons and they weren't anything that truly involved her. She didn't need to know as far as he was concerned. "There was a danger here that he was better off being kept away from," Severus replied simply. His eyes narrowed slightly. "I trust you've been of good health?"
