Pansy giggled and grinned in delight. 'I like that,' she almost purred, happy to have her friend visiting.
'I'm glad I can do it for her,' she admitted. 'I can't believe how many changes the last year has brought....' she marveled.
She curled up next to him, leaning against him, and listened, giggling with excitement from time to time. 'No, I haven't told him, and I don't like that you asked me to do that. But then, given I couldn't tell you about him for months, I guess turnabout is fair, or something....'
'And Percy is a nice man. I enjoyed talking to him. And, of course I'm prejudiced in favor of anyone who makes you giddy and happy....' she teased.
'He did?' she cried softly. 'Oh, how fun!' She called Hilly and asked her to bring the basket from behind the door. 'Why did you leave it out there?' she asked Cass as Hilly brought it in and handed it to her.
Pansy settled the basket on lap and lifted the lid. Immediately, a fuzzy gray head popped out and stared at her with the bluest eyes. And meowed at her with the pinkest little mouth. 'Cass....!' Pansy cried out softly.
