Despite the continuing, very interesting responses of Cass, Gabbi was beginning to feel cruel. She could tell he was starting to experience all sorts of guilt over something, and luckily, she had no objections to stepping back in the name of a music discussion.
Giving them both some breathing room, she smiled enthusiastically, "Oui, I love eet vairy much. I sing and teach music to ze children at my sistair Fleur's primary school! You 'ave proably 'eard of eet," she beamed proudly, her voice inflecting in a sort of melody itself.
She became a bit more reverent. "I am vairy lucky, really. Many of ze keeds, zey got quite sick and lost important people in zeir lives. While I looked like a heedeous beast for a beet, I am een one piece." Without her permission, her eyes quickly but unmistakably darted over the whole of the man before her. "As I see, are you. I am glad."
Even when talking about dark subjects, Gabrielle found it difficult to not smile.
