The ring on her finger was probably the most girly thing she owned. There were no diamonds, but the few semi-precious stones set atop it still glistened in the sunlight as the newlyweds walked the canals. Dora found her glance alternating between the ring and Remus' face as they walked. It was all taking awhile to sink in.
"Yes, I am. That didn't take very long at all, but I do believe we just eloped and were married in Venice," she said with a grin, looking over her shoulder at the church back in the distance. Honestly, the small ceremony had been just what she'd wanted, even if the roof had been perfectly solid and the minister hadn't been deaf in one ear. The smile on her lips set in as she spoke, lines of happiness forming around her eyes.
"And does anything feel different, Mr. Lupin?" Dora's eyes twinkled, betraying exactly how much she enjoyed letting the name roll off her lips. "Still think everything's going to change between us? You know, besides the obvious in that we're married now."
It was her way of saying 'I told you so'. She looped her arm around his waist and leaned her head against his shoulder. They'd been married and the heavens hadn't opened up and struck them both down dead. Nothing had snapped in Remus' brain and he wasn't trying to rip her throat out. They were walking down church steps, arm and arm as man and wife. No fangs, fur, or claws… she'd checked. This was how it was supposed to be.
She stumbled a bit on the sidewalk, but that was alright. She just clutched her new husband's waist all the more tightly as they walked. Any excuse for more contact, of course. "What do we do now?" she asked him. "Besides owl everyone and brag."
