Miles was shaking his head, both in amusement and in wonder. "I suppose he has to find out some day, but I had been kind of hoping that he'd find out the proper way - from one of his friends, then he could come and ask, and I could say, yes, it's true, here's the spell to use so you don't get a girl pregnant." That had been wishful thinking. "D'you think I can still get away with that?"
Snorting at the mention of determination, he relaxed down into the chair, sliding in next to Daphne. This was far better than the past few days. "I do think he got that from his mother. We all know how dogged Gryffindors can be."
It was nice to hear her laugh, and to feel her warmth next to him on their chair. Had this gone on much longer, he would have had that marriage contract out and been working on a way to extricate himself out of it in an even greater hurry.
He didn't pursue that thought, considering that he really hadn't been doing much on that front anyway. Every night he'd tell himself he'd start tomorrow. As he pulled her into his arms, he chuckled. "No, definitely have to remember those locking charms."
He gave her a bit of a wry smirk. "I don't suppose we should start right now?"
