Daphne nodded, smiling back at him. "And I would come too. You know that, right? I'd hug you and make it all better." Why did she feel so strongly for this boy? Was it because he'd accepted her so quickly, and done nothing but care about her since she'd walked into his life. She really didn't know, but she knew that she couldn't go back now. Not after everything that had happened.
But what Liam said next had her looking at him strangely. "Miles...I mean, your father is afraid of the dark?" That was hard to believe. "Really? Why?"
Daphne really didn't know what to say. She'd seen Miles cry...sort of. But it had been about releasing the virus, and making Liam sick. He'd always seemed fine when he was around her, and she was sure what to believe. "Really?" she asked, shaking her head. "That...doesn't seem like him at all.
