Pansy giggled. 'Who'd have thought my daughter would be so demanding?' she said, truly surprised by the idea. 'Do you think she'd be satisified if we just gave her your jumper?' she suggested.
Feeling him tense up, she had to surpress a sigh. And then he didn't say anything. The silence went on and on. Pansy took a breath and let it out slowly, feeling herself tense up, as well.
Why were relationships so hard?
'Okay,' she said when he finally spoke. 'You're not going to get used to it if you never do it, you know,' she told him. 'I don't bite,' she added helpfully. 'I'm warm and cuddly and soft...' she said encouragingly.
She wanted to ask who he had been comfortable enough to sleep with through the night, but she didn't. He would tell her when he was ready.
