"Can't say I ever thought of those two together, but they look happy." Well, tipsy Ginny seemed to be happy with anything right now, which was vastly amusing to the tall black man.
"Well, now, how can I pass up a welcome like that?" Lee said, amusement dancing in his brown eyes.
"Everyone has to let go at some point," he said, though he wasn't one to talk -- he hadn't let go in a long time. He had been so involved in moving his family and then taking care of his mother, he'd barely been able to grieve for his closest sister.
He took a sip of his drink and stood. "If you don't mind, I think I'm going to go see if I can get that welcome now," he said. "It's good to see you, though."
He wandered slowly toward Ginny, not in any hurry, still looking around to see if he knew anyone else in this crowd, more than willing to be shanghaied by anyone he knew.
