Daphne just laughed. "I refuse to believe that entirely, Miles. You know full well that you want your son to continue the Bletchley line," she responded, giving him a challenging look.
"I'd always known that someday I would have kids, although I was quite upset with the timing. A bit more time to myself would have been preferable, but I'd never give up Nigel now." She shrugged a bit, finished off her drink and moving to refill her glass. Having children is what girls of her station were supposed to do. She'd had one, and done her duty.
Daphne tilted her head to the side. Miles had never said much at all about his parents. "Blondes do have more fun," she said, winking at him. "Although hopefully they'd inherit your skills on a broom and not mine," she said laughing.
"Yes, it finally seems we've reached the light at the end of the tunnel," she said, her expression brighter than it had been since before Liam had fallen ill.
