Aurelie pat her hand against her hair, as if to make sure it was still in place even though her charm were obviously flawless. "That's all a parent can do, really. Do what they can and be there as much as possible."
She stood slowly, stretching her legs just as Nigel began to squirm in her arms. The boy was full of energy, and that was wonderful, although she was getting older, and Aurelie was almost not ready for his sudden movements. "Yes, I see that," she said a bit tartly as she tried her best to soothe the boy, running her hand over his hair.
Aurelie smiled and nodded as he began to explain the layout of the house. "Well, many of the older pureblood homes have similar magicks," she said in a very matter-of-fact tone. "Our own home has some such enchantments, although from your family history I'm sure that it's much more prevalent here." It wasn't meant to be an insult (for once). She was simply stating fact.
"Greengrass Manor, of course." What a silly question, although by the look on his face, he didn't appear to know where that was either. Hadn't Daphne told him anything!? "Somerset," she added, her eyes falling upon the paintings that hung upon the walls.
Aurelie was about to open her mouth to question him about the artwork when she heard the sound of a door opening and closing. Looking down the staircase, she saw her daughter walk in, and she put a grand smile on her face, knowing she was about to be confronted by Daphne's anger.
