"Well, of course my grandson is perfect in every way," she said simply, as if there were no other possibility. "Although I'm sorry to hear about you son's mother, of course. Then you've been married before?" That would be most interesting...
"Ah, waiting for awhile then?" she asked, more rhetorically than anything else. "Not a bad idea with the war going on and all that. Besides, it's hard to have a baby when you've already got a child still in diapers."
Aurelie continued to watch him carefully, wondering exactly what that smirk meant. At the moment, she wanted to wipe it clean from his face. "I'm sure you took advantage of keeping each other warm," she said, her eyes locked on his face. At the mention of a bonding spell, her eyes widened ever so slightly, and she began to grin again. "Oh, you bonded magically, too?" she asked, visibly interested. "Quite a serious matter, I think. Antonin Dolohov is a powerful man - I'm sure he did a wonderful job." She wondered exactly how bonded they really were - it didn't seem like her daughter at all, really.
"Frankly, as much as I would just love to chat with her, I really only stopped by to see my grandson and to meet Daphne's very mysterious new husband. I do so hate being left out of the loop. It's just not right to do that to a mother, wouldn't you say?" It was really quite ridiculous - her daughter hadn't even written her father lately, and it had left him quite worried, especially with the state of affairs in Hogsmeade.
Aurelie put a hand to her heart, giving her face a worried expression. Daphne was the only Greengrass heir...they couldn't lose her too. "Oh my, was she that sick? And Nigel too? How positively terrible. Thank goodness she had you around." She gave her words a bit of extra flair for emphasis. She didn't want the boy to think her ungrateful.
