Miles felt a wave of relief wash over him as he drank his coffee. Liam was slowly falling asleep, and things would settle down here. It was far from over, but they could worry about that later.
Daphne's warm hand slipped into his, and he have her a half smile and a nod. "It's been a long night," he admitted, yawning and stretching again, his joints popping in the relaxing stretch. As much as he felt like he could sleep for days, he knew he'd not sleep all that soundly with the thoughts racing through his head.
"You're too good to us," he admitted softly, kissing her again as he turned to leave. Liam was already asleep. He searched her face as he kissed her. "I'm going to have to think of some way to make all of this up to you," he said, kissing her again.
