Liam seemed so much more responsive and active than the last time he'd been awake, and Daphne felt a great sense of relief. Finally, everything seemed like it was going to be fine, and things could slowly go back to normal.
Daphne nodded her approval at the bath idea - it would definitely help his sores, and she could make Liam some food while Miles was doing that. However, she almost choked when the 'l' word came out of Miles' mouth, and it took all her self control to keep herself from giving him a very strange look. "Will you now?" she asked smoothly, smirking at him.
Then Liam began to regale them with tales of his pirate dreams, only to bring up the one subject that Daphne had been glad to get away from - Millicent's baby. Her stomach twisted, and she bit at her bottom lip as she gave Miles a warning look. The last thing a recovering boy needed was some bad news - they could tell him later. "A get well soon card sounds perfect," she agreed, keeping a smile on her face.
As Miles picked the boy up out of bed for his bath, Daphne headed for the kitchen. Calling Zorbin, she and the house elf quickly made the banana milkshake and the coffee, and also some chicken broth and bread. If they could get him to eat something substantial, it would be all the better.
Daphne headed back in with the food just as Miles had finished getting his son into a fresh pair of pajamas. "Here we go, boys."
