Liam woke and tried to rub his eyes open. He felt the magic that had been stopping him from doing so, and for just a second he was fretting. Hearing Daddy's voice stopped him from worrying, but as he slowly came awake, he remembered being sick, and itchy, and that he couldn't see.
His skin felt like he was on fire, and he scratched at his leg. His eyes didn't hurt any more, but he couldn't open them. Daddy took away the magic, and he tried to open them. They were still scratchy, but he managed a smile when he could see blurry things. "You're all blurry," he repeated, but his eyes quickly got sore as he tried to blink hard.
Hearing Daphne call him handsome, he managed to smile. He wanted to go and play, and visit his friends, who he missed. At the question of being hungry, he heard his tummy grumble. He was starving!
"Banana milkshake, please," he said, his throat still feeling a little sore. "Can I go play with my friends today?" he asked, hoping that after he ate, he could play with Marlowe, or Ella, or anyone, really. "Where's Nigel."
