"Well, we managed somehow." Thinking back, Miles couldn't remember how they had coped. All he seemed to be doing at the moment was sitting vigil on someone's bedside, and begging favours from Bellatrix Lestrange in return for a dose of Cruciatus.
"A family outing?" he said as he drummed up the hint of a smile. "It all sounds just a little too... well, normal, doesn't it?" He wasn't saying it was a bad idea at all - in fact he was just thinking it was a great idea, and if life were only that simple and innocent again.
He saw Daphne's reaction to the news, and kept a firm grip on her arm. She was just as stunned, and he shook his head to say he wasn't joking. "You don't need to be apologising to me," he added softly as he leaned on her ever so slightly for support.
Pulling her in close for a hug, he just hoped things weren't going to get any worse. Daphne was a friend of Millicent's and he just hoped his wife could keep quiet. "She can't ever know I was involved, Daphne," he said to her. "She would have no compunction in killing me - I know her well enough to know that."
