Daphne was frowning softly. He looked so tired, but at least it looked like he'd gotten a bit of sleep. Even if it was in a chair.
She nodded softly. "I know. I do too." What else was she really supposed to say to that?
"I did," she said, nodding again. "Probably more than I have in weeks," she admitted, hoping that if she was fully rested, he might be more willing to take a nap. His kiss was revitalizing, and she shivered at the touch of his fingers. How she wished that things were happier right now.
Her frown deepened at the mention of Romilda's name, though, and her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "I knew it was too much to think that she'd stay away forever," she said harshly. "You should have woken me. I hope she didn't bother you too much, although that's probably too hopeful."
