Severus scowled. "What does that matter? Did she mock you? Tell you to leave? Make your life a misery? Or did she actually care and want to help? Contrary to popular opinion, my Slytherins are not unfeeling monsters. If you give them half a chance they might even help."
He snorted and gave Harry a withering look. "I could not care less who you bed. And I would think Miss Parkinson's opinion matters most on that score. She is quite capable of deciding what she does and does not want. And Draco simply likes to see others happy. In his eyes, sex makes people happy, ergo people should have more sex."
He snorted and gave an exasperated sigh. "I would have done the same thing. I suspect everyone in the Order, in the Aurors, on the whole damn side of Light would have done the same thing. Sometimes you have to make choices that seem to have bad outcomes on both sides." He paused an arched an eyebrow. "Such as killing a man whom you respect because it's the best course of action, irrespective of the mess it's going to create for nearly everyone."
He shook his head. "Gryffindors... you always want the world to be in black and white. It's not. It's just so many shades of grey. There is very little right or wrong in the world. Have you ever thought that because you were distracted by what had happened to Fleur that you might have given whichever Lestrange it was an opening to kill you? That would have made things far worse." He gave Harry a hard look. "And contrary to the opinion of half the idiots in the Order, you have done your job. You destroyed Voldemort. It is not your responsibility to destroy the Lestranges. It is definitely not your responsibility to save the entire damn world."
