Miles let out a sigh, not sure what to think any more. He just wanted Liam to be happy and healthy. Merlin knows he was surprised Romilda wasn't there to yell and scream at him for being a neglectful father. As much as Liam could annoy him to tears when he was playing and laughing, right now, he'd give anything to see him get up and do that all again.
"I know he'll like that," he conceded. But he said nothing when she mentioned Millicent's family. He knew that if anything happened to her, Liam would go through yet more devastation. He'd lost his mother, and Rosmerta. Thank Merlin Daphne was there in case anything happened to Millicent.
It felt good to feel Daphne in his arms, even if it was just a casual embrace. Her lips felt soothing, as he could still swear that he was feeling ill. His hands caressed her shoulders, brushing over her bond mark, and he felt a matching shiver in his own. "I hope so," he said quietly. He didn't need to remind her that they could never tell anyone about this - never, and he sighed softly. "We'll get through this together."
At the feel of her hands against his, and the smile on her lips, he did feel his mood lighten just a little. "Well there is that one spot on my back..." he managed just a little smirk as they headed towards the bathroom.
