Neville was just letting her hold his hand, making sure the salve dried and his hands healed themselves - he had done a number on them, not wanting to stop working for fear of thinking the worst.
Though, he let her speak, shaking his head though when she said he didn't do anything wrong - he knew that she would've been scared, maybe threatened if he said that he loved her, and yet, he did it anyway. Feeling it was slightly safe though, and complimentary, he looked up sheepishly and smiled. "How could I not be?"
Neville bit at his lip, worrying it still when Ginny looked back at him... and... What? Sitting there, watching and listening was all that Neville could do - apart from wondering if this was a dream or if he was 'not all there' still from lack of sleep. Ginny blurted everything out and Neville didn't dare interrupt her, not that he could.. he was stunned and happy and nervous, all at the same time.
"Can I forgive you?" Neville laid his other palm on top of both of Ginny's hands and held them there. "There's nothing to forgive Ginny." There was a quiet smile on his face as he said it, still stupefied that 'She loves me'? "It's all alright Ginny, I was scared too. About the baby, the war, possibly having chased you away. It was a lot to comprehend.... I thought that maybe, if you knew I loved you, and I wasn't going anywhere... in hindsight I overloaded you."
His hands were tingling from shock and he was sitting across from Ginny, the girl - the woman he'd loved in some way or another ever since he was young, loved him back. "But I do... I do love you - and you know me better than anyone else, so you know..." That I never lie to you.
Neville was still slightly nervous, glad he still had his coat on. He knew she was going to laugh at him, he knew, but he asked anyway. "Can I please kiss you now because... I've missed you."
