Daphne giggled a bit. "Apparently Nigel recovered quite a bit quicker than I did, and Miles had an even harder time dealing with him when he was healthy." She wished that she had been able to see that. It would have been more than humorous.
She couldn't help but enjoy it when she made him blush. He was still just as cute as when they used to have a bit of fun together, but times had changed just so much since then.
Daphne waved away his concern. "No, I...wanted to," she said finally. "I probably would have died without you, or killed myself apparently." She shrugged her shoulders a bit. Daphne was used to just about every social situation except this one. Normally she would have just sent a gift off with a thank you owl, but this was a bit different.
"But you're welcome just the same, of course," she finished, not wanting to be impolite.
"How have you been? You seem to be holding up okay," she asked, making small talk.
