Cass laughed, shaking his head. 'Right,' he said. 'Blame the poor girl who's not here to defend herself,' he said with a wink.
When Percy moved on though he bit his lip, looking up at the ceiling for a while. 'You're the reason I didn't accept, Percy, I've told you that,' he then said looking over at Percy. He wasn't sure Percy understood why he just couldn't live there as a friend, but, no, it would be impossible in the long run. 'The day I'll accept would be the day I share your bed, Percy, and we both know that when or if I do it will be the only bed I share. I won't make that decision until I know I can keep it.'
He didn't even notice that he'd failed to use the word if this time.
